Wedding Album Inspiration - Mixed Media and picasa...

It has been a couple of weeks now since the 30 Day Craft Challenge ended and I have blogged. I am slowly getting into the swing of things and have my self sorted at my temporary home - today I decided to play around with photos and effects for my long put off wedding album :0) And I have just discovered Picasa and Love it so I am putting together some photos whilst sitting in the sun with the dog :)
This photo is of my sister in law helping to put on my wedding Jewellry!
I love craft and creating with paper but I also get a thrill out of creating with beautiful photos - and there are so many to choose from!!! Thanks to my wonderful family and friends and our fabulous photographer on the day Sarah from Heath Wade photography Newcastle, NSW. Would love people to share any programs and Ideas (prefferably in the way of mixed media) that they may have seen or used in there own or someone elses Wedding Album :) I will also be sharing some of my techniques I have used or will be using in the quest to get my wedding album finally finished...
Leave me a message if you have an idea or your own blog to share!! Love to be inspired by others creativity - in fact I just thought of an idea for a new challenge...A wedding page a week? ...thought A day may be a little ambitious :) But a week will guarentee me finished in a year ...join me in this challenge if you have any unfinished albums that have been sitting around for some time or you would like to create some pages of your love.

Day 30 - 30 Day Craft Challenge ~Free To Create ~

Day 30 of the 30 Day Craft Challenge and todays word is "Free to Create".
Today all participants including myself where free to create anything craft/art of any theme.
It has been a long 30 Days - but yet has gone so quick...I would like to Thank everyone of the participants who followed along with the challenge as without you all I probably would not have completed it myself.
Today I have not felt very inspired - I guess you get that when you have so many things happening in such a small window of time - moving house - driving the 1500 km back to my family from SA and having to leave my husband for 6 months to do so, as I made the choice to come back for family reasons...
When days like this come though the only thing you can do is take it easy and see what comes - and today this little card came - not really that impressed with it to be honest but as I have said in the past the creative process is the main objective and just the act of creating something - good or not so good is a healing tool.
Looking at this card now on the table in front of me - though I did not think I made it for any specific reasons -  but it now seems I made it for me!
Especially for me :) As the last 30 Days have most certainly been a journey and life and creativity continues to be Journey - and I would not have it any other way.
Tomorrow I will be posting the winner of the "Be in it to win it" Prize. A few little creative goodies will be coming the winners way :)
I hope you all have enjoyed the challenge and I look forward to more Crafty Challenges in the future...The album will be open for a few weeks for any participants wishing to, to catch up, so will be posting these projects every now and then.

Day 29 - 30 Day Craft Challenge ~Animal~

Day 29 of the 30 Day Craft Challenge and todays word is ~Animal~
Only one day to go until the challenge is finished and it has been a busy 30 days :0)
With ~Animal~ being the word for today I decicded to use my favourite little animal - my beautiful dog Ruby.
A little while ago I used my silhouette cutter program to draw around a picture of Ruby. I then used the cutter to cut out separate pieces and stick them togther to make a scrapbook picture of Ruby.

Today I thought I would take the original silhouette image I drew and use the pens to trace it onto card then use my copics to colour it in (an idea I got from my friend Kerry yesterday from Kerrys Crafty Cards and Cuts). Unfortunately I could not find the image as I think it is on the laptop I bought and I cant find the charger for :( so after searching for a long time ( the time in which I could have probably re drawn it) I have given up and decided to share the original cut out I made which I luckily had a photo of so here it is...

Day 28 - 30 Day Craft Challenge ~Rainbow~

Day 28 of the 30 day Craft Challenge and todays word is ~Rainbow~
Only 2 days left of the challenge with the participate to win prize being drawn on wednesday :)
Today with the word being Rainbow - I played around with colour - and it is oh so much fun. The below is a card that I made using a stamp, coloured pancils and some different coloured pieces of card.
I apologise as the photo is poor - but looks much better in plain light.
I loved making this card as it is a bit quirky to what I normally make, which is good as I feel like I need to step out side the square and take more risks creatively then I have been doing - I love how offbeat it is. I have learned today through playing with colour and design a little that things do not always need to be symetrical to work.
Tomorrow will most certainly be another day of trying to break the rules to discover the effects that doing so can bring - you win some with this method and you lose some, but it is all a creative journey and that is all that matters

So here are a few participant projects from the last few days:

Day 27 of the 30 Day Craft Challenge and today's word is ~ Home ~
Today was a long day but we finally made of destination from SA to the hunter valley NSW some 1500 km between the two :) My dog Ruby and I are settling in at my mum and dads - so all is going well - again today the only time I had to do something creative was to take photos so I will share some with you of my Ruby in her new "home" and travelling in the car ...
Tomorrow I will be unpacked, settled and back to creating some more substantial items so I can not wait for that :) I also will be catching up and sharing some great projects from our participants from the last few days! :)
Happy crafting xx

Day 25 - 30 Day Craft Challenge ~Boy~

Today is Day 25 of the 30 Day Craft Challenge and today's word Is ~Boy~
Today has been quite a large one for me and sad, as have said "See you soon" to two of my great friends yesterday and two more today :( plus goodbye to our cockatiel Terry - whom has gone to live with the Walker Family and I sure will get lots more attention from the Walker boys then she is currently getting here:) so in the midst of packing, cleaning and farewelling friends I have had to think about my project for today...luckily I went to pick up some more supplies from Kerry from http://kerryscraftycardsandcuts.com.au and she gave me a cut out from her new cameo cutter that can cut 12x12 sheets - very cool so I have started to put together a layout for a boys page - unfortunately all my supplies are packed into the car for me to leave on my road trip tomorrow morning so I am giving myself a break and calling this a work in progress :) the stamp I also bought of Kerry today also and is so cute - and yes it is a very large work in progress but you get the idea of where ideas for layouts come from - from a sheet of paper and layer upon layer added over time - so here's my first boy project - a work in progress ...

Day 24 - 30 Day Craft Challenge ~Ribbon~

Its Day 24 of the 30 Day Craft Challenge and todays word is
~Ribbon~
This project is one that I have made for my mum for mothers day (and not given to her yet) - it is an explosion box - though it does not "Explode" very well being the first one I made - I plan to do more of these with the help of My sisters Cameo cutting machine in the coming months :) As it will cut a 12 x 12 sheet - this one was hand cut as my cutter only does A4, so it is a little tight fitting :)
So here is a couple of photos of the project with a shot of the ribbon I tied around it :)

here is a beautiful drawing below by Erin Boxsell for yesterdays word

Day 23 of the 30 Day Craft Challenge and the word for today is ~Friend~
Today has been another busy day for me packing so unfortunately I will have to share a past project tonight :)
This is a card I made with Kaisercraft stamps -fine and sunny- some coloured card, hemp string, buttons and stuck on pearls and some vintage sheet music. I also used a Kaisercraft stamp for the phrase.

Day 22 - 30 Day Craft Challenge ~Laugh~

Day 22 of the 30 Day Craft Challenge -
Todays word is
~Laugh~

Again today I have opted for a digital design, due to the packing still continuing in our house :).
I made a very quick gift tag, again in Adobe Illustrator. The design has come out a bit hippy looking - which is fitting seeing I used the words "Live, Laugh, Love" on it.
This card was quite simple and fast to design and draw and could be printed out to make a cute gift tag or embellishment to add to a card. The use of some glitter or flocking powder would also help to add dimension to the piece.
I really love digital art and with a little time and energy - it can deliver some amazing results :)

Day 21 - 30 Day Craft Challenge ~Celebrate~

Today's word for Day 21 of the 30 Day Craft Challenge is
~Celebrate~
My project today was a baby album, a gift to celebrate the arrival of a new baby girl to the world :)
This is actually an album I made a while ago and I make a lot in this style. The paper used is Cristina Re, one of my favourite paper designers with such an elegant and unique range of papers and supplies.
Here is the photo of the album made with Cristina Re paper, mettalic paper, ribbon and clear acetate on the front.

The unicorn and heart are cut out and stuck on with foam tape.

Day 20 - 30 Day Craft Challenge ~Polka Dot~

Day 20 of the 30 Day Craft Challenge only 10 to go and it is becoming more challenging by the day.Todays (Yesterdays word now as my computer was not working properly last night :) ) word was
~Polka Dot~
and most of my things are getting packed so I decided today to do a Digital scrapbook page with polka dots on it - I used Adobe photoshop and illustrator to make a 12 x 12 page of a photo from my Hens Party in 2010.
I have never tried digital scrapbooking before but I quite enjoyed playing around with all the techniques especially in Illustrator which is so easy to manipulate effects and pictures.

A Little about the event surrounding the picture: My hens party theme was "Miss Bride 2010" which was a beauty pagaent theme where everyone was given a sash to decorate with their appropriate "Miss ...." on it. The dresses everyone wore where from an Op Shop and there was a "Miss Bride" Parade and crowning for the winner of the parade.

Here is the result of my first digital scrapbook page - this is only a part of the 12 x 12 page

If you get a chance and you like digital art - have a play around with Adobe Illustrator it is quite easy to get some great effects.

Now Here are some participant projects for the last couple of days
